Introduction to the NIS
Sport Science Lab’s unique performance training is based on decades of research in the gym, on the basketball floor, on the ice, on the football field, on the baseball diamond and in the lab. The Neuromuscular Intensification System is the result of this diligent groundbreaking research. Sport Science Lab is taking this unique system and applying it to athletes, each in a unique way, to dramatically improve power, speed, quickness, balance, and every other facet of athleticism.
The NIS is based, first and foremost, on observed results. The accelerating isokinetic equipment developed for NIS is unique in the world of athletic training, and targets exactly the areas determined through those years of research to make superior athletes. It is widely known that you can increase muscle mass through conventional training systems and that not much can be done to improve overall athleticism. Conventional thinking holds that athletic ability is limited by your genetic makeup. Sport Science Lab’s NIS methodology proves conventional thinking wrong. This science-based system uses an approach refined and focused through years of experiment, observation, application and competing in seven sports.
By observing and auditing an athlete, the specific areas in need of remediation and repair are identified, and a baseline of performance is determined. Once an athlete’s baseline is set, a multi-modal plan will be formulated to stimulate the neurological-muscular system and defeat the tendency of the body to stagnate in training. This stagnancy or “plateau” is overcome with careful attention to movement, and a systematic progressive introduction to protocols featuring an intensified training effect and stimulus.
The NIS thus results in dramatic and unequaled increases in speed, power, balance, grace and quickness, and the SSL application of this system gives athletes a way to see their progression statistically and as it applies to their sport-specific or lifestyle goal.
